Power Cores & Energy Vortexes

Power Cores and Energy Vortexes are the highest-stakes open-world objectives in Albion Online’s Black Zones. They attract PvP-focused guilds competing for Fame, Silver, and loot — making them both the most rewarding and the most dangerous content on the map.

Albion Online Objectives (AOO) tracks both objective types with full rarity support, so your guild always knows what is spawning, where, and when.

What Are Power Cores?

Power Cores (referred to as “Core” in the bot) are group PvP objectives that spawn in Black Zone maps. Activating a core triggers a channeling phase that enemy players can contest. Successfully completing a core yields substantial Fame and Silver rewards that scale with rarity.

Cores are designed for organized groups. A solo player cannot realistically complete one — you need a combat-ready party to defend the objective while it channels.

What Are Energy Vortexes?

Energy Vortexes (referred to as “Vortex” in the bot) are open-world objectives similar to cores but with distinct spawn mechanics and reward structures. Like cores, they require a group to capture and are fully contestable by rival guilds.

Vortexes follow the same rarity system as cores and offer competitive rewards, making them a prime target during guild operations.

Rarity System

Both cores and vortexes use a four-tier color-based rarity system. Higher rarity means greater rewards — and more competition.

RarityColorPower LevelRelative Value
Green🟢CommonBaseline rewards, lower competition
Blue🔵RareModerate rewards, some contention
Purple🟣EpicHigh rewards, expect PvP encounters
Gold🟠LegendaryMaximum rewards, heavily contested

The jump in value between tiers is significant. A Gold core is worth substantially more than a Green one — both in raw Silver and in the quality of loot dropped.

Both objective types share the same rarity progression and are tracked identically by Albion Online Objectives. The primary differences lie in their in-game mechanics, spawn patterns, and reward distributions.

Tracking with Albion Online Objectives

Use the /add command to report cores and vortexes as soon as a scout spots one. The bot’s autocomplete filters type and rarity automatically — selecting Core or Vortex as the type restricts rarity choices to the color-based system (Green, Blue, Purple, Gold).

Example Commands

/add type:Core rarity:Gold map:Hightree Enclave time:01:15
/add type:Core rarity:Purple map:Murdergulch Ravine time:02:45
/add type:Vortex rarity:Blue map:Deepwood Gorge time:03:00
/add type:Vortex rarity:Gold map:Everwinter Peak time:00:50

After reporting, the objective appears in /list with a live countdown. All server members can see it and plan accordingly.

Strategy Tips

  • Gold cores and vortexes take absolute priority. If a scout reports one, redirect your best PvP group immediately. The rewards justify the risk.
  • Time your arrival carefully. Showing up too early means idle waiting in hostile territory. Arriving late means someone else claims it. Use the bot’s countdown to time your movements.
  • Bring the right composition. Cores and vortexes are contested content. Your group needs both DPS to complete the objective and enough survivability to fight off enemies.
  • Report even if you cannot contest it. Another group in your guild might be able to reach it. Always /add what you find — let the shot caller decide what to pursue.
  • Coordinate using the guild workflow for structured objective sessions that maximize your guild’s output.
